Big Changes ahead for QuickBooks Software Integrations

changesFor someone like me who works extensively with QuickBooks and quite a few 3rd party applications that integrate with it, the recent conference I attended brought some very interesting news for what’s ahead.  Intuit announced several major changes that will affect the development of add-on products for QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.  It’s fair to say that it took many of us by surprise, but in a good way.

I could never outline the announced changes as well as our colleague Charlie Russell from CCRSoftware.

Everyone should head over to Charlie’s recent blog post to get the scoop; he has done a thorough job of outlining the changes and how it will affect QuickBooks Developers, Pro Advisors, and end-users alike.

In addition to Intuit’s new approach to add-on products in general, and future development, was the announcement of Intuit’s partnership with the American Express small business ReceiptMatch product.  This will provide a tighter integration between QuickBooks and American Express overall; it looks very promising and I can’t wait to try it out!
